Item code SP6C - Volleyball Copper Necklace that is proudly made in the USA. The pendant is made with lead free pewter that has a special antique copper color finish. This volleyball features engraved lines that form a round volleyball. Around the outer perimeter of the volleyball we used a embossed Bible verse that reads "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens us" from the book of Philippians 4:13. This scripture from the Bible is our inspiration. This necklace comes on 22 inch black rubber. With the combination of engraved lines and raised text along with the curve of the ball the antique copper finish really show the contrasting beauty of this specific finish.

What is a Copper Metal Finish?
It is a special finish that is rich copper color that is antiqued. The antiquing creates dark recessed areas but enhances the bright orange like highlighted areas. This finish that is very close to new copper colors yet has the rugged darkness that is unique unto itself.

The Great History of Volleyball in America
Influenced by Naismith and basketball, in 1895, in Holyoke, Massachusetts, a man named William G. Morgan invented "Mintonette" a less vigorous team sport more suitable for older members of the YMCA but one that still required athletic skill. Later Alfred S. Halstead watched Mintonnette and renamed it "Volleyball" as the point of the game is to "volley" the "ball" back and forth over the net.
